Joint Research Application (2017)

From 2017 onwards, research using both large-scale data and large-capacity network can be conducted that depends upon a very wide bandwidth network provided by SINET5 (including L2VPN service etc.), in cooperation with the National Institute of Informatics. Please see the Call for Proposals for details of provided resources and possible joint research examples.

  2. There are 3 types of Joint Research Projects to be invited. For details, please see the Call for Proposals.

  4. Since 2013, the JHPCN member institutions have been operating those joint research resources named the HPCI-JHPCN system as parts of the HPCI system provided by the High Performance Computing Infrastructure (HPCI).

  5. Facility Use Fees
  6. Research resources listed on Attachment 1 of the Call for Proposals can be utilized free of charge within the approved amount.

  7. Application Deadline
  8. Online registration (submission of PDF application form):
    January 10, 2017 (Tue) 17:00

    Submission of printed application form :
    January 16, 2017 (Mon) 17:00

    Submission of both PDF and printed versions of the application form is required.

  9. Application Process
  10. Please note that the application procedures differ for "Research projects that use the HPCI-JHPCN System" and "Research projects that do not use the HPCI-JHPCN System". In the former case, while preparing the Research Project Proposal Application Form, the Project Representative (and the Deputy Representative who will submit the proposal or who will be in charge of HPCI face-to-face identity vetting on behalf of the Project Representative) and all joint researchers who will use the HPCI-JHPCN System must obtain their HPCI-IDs unless already have them.
